Fair Credit Reporting Act

Christopher E. Kittell has spent his career suing credit bureaus and furnishers of credit information on behalf of consumers who are the victims of violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.  Whether the consumer is a victim of identity theft or a mixed credit file, the credit bureaus and creditors are required to perform reasonable investigations of the consumer's disputes of the incorrect items appearing on his credit reports.  Not only does Christopher E. Kittell have a track record of forcing the credit bureaus to correct errors on his client's credit reports, Kittell can obtain compensation for his clients for all the headaches and stress caused by violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.  Learn more about Fair Credit Reporting Act lawsuits here.

Fair Debt Collection Practices Act

Christopher E. Kittell is also experienced in representing victims of collection abuse and harassment.  The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act was passed to prevent debt collectors from using unconscionable methods to collect debts.  Yet, many shady collection agencies and debt collectors still use illegal threats to coerce consumers to pay debts.  Kittell has represented many consumers in lawsuits against debt collectors arising from violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  Click here to learn more about the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Telephone Consumer Protection Act

Christopher E. Kittell is one of the few consumer trial attorney in Mississippi experienced in representing victims of robocalls using the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA for short). The TCPA makes it illegal for companies to call your cell phone using an automatic dialer (sometimes called an ATDS or autodialer) without prior express consent. The TCPA also makes it illegal for a company to call any phone number (residential, landline or cell) using a recorded or artificial voice without prior express consent. If you have been a victim of illegal robocalls, contact trial attorney Christopher Kittell at the Kittell Law Firm. You can also learn more about the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

Judgments Obtained Without Service of Process

Were you sued but not served with a summons?  The Kittell Law Firm has helped several consumers who have had default judgments entered against them set aside on the grounds of improper service of process.  When someone is sued, the person suing them is required to have the person being sued served with a Summons and a copy of the lawsuit against them. The Kittell Law Firm has assisted several clients who were sued and, without first being served with the lawsuit, had a judgment entered against them for the  amount  they allegedly owed.  Learn more about this type of case here.
